This is how the openings of the Barça stadiums were.
The FC Barcelona debuts this Saturday, November 22, 2025, its new Spotify Camp Nou in an official match. Under construction since May 2023, the home of the Barcelonistas, with a completely new look, opens its doors for the 2025-26 League matchday 13, which faces Athletic de Bilbao. Since the clubs foundation in 1899, the blue and claret team has played at many grounds, not all of them owned, starting with the one that hosted what is considered the first match in the clubs history, played at the Velódromo de la Bonanova on Friday, December 8, 1899, a match against members of the English colony residing in Catalunya, in a contest of 10 against 10 players, which started at three in the afternoon and ended 0-1. Juan de Urruela, Walter Wild, José Lomba, Luis de Ossó, José Llobet, Adolfo López, Hans Gamper, Bartomeu Terrades, Otto Kunzle, and Eduardo Schilling formed the pioneering Barcelona lineup. Hotel Casanovas (1900-1901), Horta road (1901-1905), and L’Eixample (Muntaner street, 1905-1909) concentrated the venues where Barça hosted without being their own field until the move to the Estadi Olímpic de Montjuïc. In addition to the contemporary exile to the magical mountain, Barça had already played there on May 26, 1929, against Atlético de Madrid (4-0) in a League match on the occasion of the Barcelona Universal Exposition, two Gamper Trophies (1990 and 1997), and on August 25, 1996, secured the title of the Supercopa de España by winning the first leg (5-2) against Atlético, in the culé presentation of Ronaldo Nazario, who scored a brace, along with goals from Giovanni Silva, Juan Antonio Pizzi, and Iván de la Peña. Among the owned stadiums, there were various debuts.
