Bad feelings with Raphinha

Just 48 hours before the anticipated classic against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu, FC Barcelona has received some discouraging news.

Raphinha did not participate in Friday´s training and has suffered a setback in his recovery process from the right hamstring injury that has kept him out since the end of September. Although it was unlikely he would start even if he completed the last sessions without issues — as he has been out of competition for exactly a month — the Brazilian did not train with the group in the penultimate practice led by Hansi Flick due to bad physical feelings. The winger went to the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, but left before the training began. Thus, he is ruled out for the classic and will undergo medical tests this afternoon.

Koundé still has discomfort

Jules Koundé also did not train, as he continues to experience physical discomfort for several days, as SPORT reported. His progress will be key to determining if he will be available against Real Madrid. Otherwise, Hansi Flick will have to look for alternatives to cover his position, with Eric García and Ronald Araújo as the main options, and the youth player Xavi Espart as a possible additional resource.

Good news: Ferran Torres and De Jong

The positive note of the day came from Frenkie de Jong and Ferran Torres. The Dutch midfielder trained normally and was the first to arrive at the Sports City. De Jong is fully recovered from the gastroenteritis that prevented him from working with the group on Thursday. His rapid recovery invites optimism, and all indications are that he will have an important role in the classic. He is one of the players most used by Flick this season, and his performance has been outstanding. Additionally, Andreas Christensen has overcome the physical issues that troubled him in recent days and is now training without limitations. On his part, Ferran Torres has put behind the muscle issues he suffered during his time with the Spanish national team. The forward is at 100% and highly motivated to be a starter. Although he did not participate in the match against Olympiacos, he was called up, and all signs point to him joining the attacking trio alongside Lamine Yamal and Marcus Rashford.

Lewandowski aims to return soon

Although he will not be ready in time for the clash against Real Madrid, Robert Lewandowski could be the next to receive medical clearance. The Polish forward is progressing well and has good feelings, with his sights set on the match against Elche on November 2. As for the other injured players, it remains to be seen if Dani Olmo can recover in time for that date. In contrast, Joan García will need a few more days, while Ter Stegen and Gavi will not return to the pitch until 2026.
