With the second matchday of the Champions League group stage concluded, the clash between the two main title contenders is already looming. Both teams will measure their strength in a few days, but first, they must face a series of matches that will mark their form and confidence.

The blaugranas reached the top of the table after defeating Real Sociedad 2-1 and taking advantage of Real Madrid´s heavy defeat against Atlético de Madrid by 5-2. In this way, Barça adds 19 points, one more than Ancelotti´s team, who are second with 18 units. Villarreal appears in third position with 16.

This weekend´s matchday will be the last before the second international break of the season. Barça will visit the Sánchez-Pizjuán to face Sevilla on Sunday at 16:15 hours. Madrid, for its part, will host Villarreal at the Bernabéu on Saturday at 21:00 hours. After the break, the championship will resume with two more key matches: The blaugranas will host Girona in the Catalan derby on Saturday, October 18 (16:15 hours). The madridistas will travel to Coliseum Alfonso Pérez to play against Getafe on Sunday 19 (21:00 hours).
