The president of FC Barcelona traveled this Friday to the province of Huelva to participate in the congress that brought together hundreds of Blaugrana supporters, just a few days before the anticipated clash against Real Madrid. During his meeting with the club members, and in statements to the digital media Huelva Hoy, Laporta wanted to highlight the figure of one of the most outstanding footballers of the moment: Fermín López. The midfielder, born in El Campillo, has just delivered a brilliant performance in the Champions League, where he scored an impressive hat-trick that reaffirms his excellent form and growing prominence in the team led by Hansi Flick.

The Blaugrana leader did not hide his admiration for the youth player: "Our coach already told me that he was a key piece for Barça. And the truth is that Fermín is proving it, he has extraordinary quality as a player, and moreover, he is a better person," said Laporta, visibly satisfied with the emergence of the young Andalusian footballer.

Expectations for the classic

With the resounding victory in the Champions still fresh and after Real Madrid´s narrow win against Juventus, Laporta wanted to emphasize the significance of the match that will take place this Sunday at the Santiago Bernabéu. "The Clásico is always a match of maximum rivalry and is watched all over the world. I would like us to continue the streak from last year", recalled the president, referring to the memorable 0-4 from last season. Interrogated also about the suspension of the match that was supposed to be played in Miami, the president was blunt and avoided entering into controversies: "We have already made a statement at Barça and I refer to the statement", he concluded firmly.
