"Lamine is fine, he knows what he generates and Barça can be calm"

Héctor Fort, currently on loan to Elche, will reunite this weekend with his friend and former teammate, the young Barça star Lamine Yamal, in a match that promises great emotions.

The FC Barcelona will host the surprising Elche in Montjuïc, in a duel that will feature several protagonists with a recent past at the Barça club, both on the bench and on the pitch. One of them will be Héctor Fort, a full-back trained at La Masia, who is on loan to the Ilicitano team until the end of the season and who is gradually earning a more important role in his new team.

The reunion with Lamine Yamal

In an interview for the Tot Costa program on Catalunya Ràdio, Héctor expressed his excitement about facing such a special match against Barça: "I will be happy to see my friends again. And, in addition, I would be delighted to have to stop Lamine. He is my friend and it is possible that in some of the duels I might even end up losing," he commented with laughter.

Calm about Lamine´s situation

In light of the controversy surrounding Lamine Yamal after the last Clásico, Fort wanted to send a message of calm to the Barça fans: "Lamine is fine, he is perfectly aware of everything he generates and Barça can be calm." The Elche defender expressed some annoyance at the excessive media noise surrounding the young player and the clashes with Real Madrid players: "There is no need to worry about Lamine. He is focused and what people should do is enjoy his game. He is a marvel."

His view on Barça´s moment

When asked about the current state of Flick´s team, which is going through an irregular phase, Héctor offered a realistic assessment: "Last year many things were won and this season it is complicated to maintain the same level. I know Barça is working well, the team will overcome this small bad streak and recover its best level."

A youth player with his feet on the ground

At just 19 years old, Fort assured that he is focused on continuing to grow and learn during his loan at Elche. He avoided any criticism towards Flick and explained his desire to keep evolving as a footballer: "I am only 19 years old and have a lot of room for improvement. I am working to progress defensively, to be more aggressive and on positional matters. I owe everything to Xavi for making me debut and having his confidence. With Flick, we talk, like with all coaches, but he was probably looking for other things that other teammates provided." The young full-back sees this moment as an opportunity to mature and continue gaining experience before returning to the club that saw him grow.
