The Vinicius show at the Coliseum: "That´s why everyone hates you"

The Brazilian forward was once again the center of attention at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez. His performance, marked by several simulations and provocative gestures, ended up generating a strong controversy and harsh criticism from both José Bordalás and Juan Iglesias.

Vinicius ignites tension in the match

Juan Iglesias lost patience with Vinicius and did not hesitate to let him know during the match. Although the Brazilian started the duel on the bench, his entry was decisive: he provoked two expulsions for Getafe and a crucial yellow card for Kiko Femenía. Since his entry, Vini seemed to have a clear objective: destabilize the opponent. First, he feigned an aggression from Iglesias, which ignited the first confrontation between the two. Shortly after, he exaggerated a foul by Kiko Femenía, which resulted in a yellow card for the former Villarreal full-back. Femenía, visibly upset, fell to the ground protesting the referee´s decision. The images showed that there was no contact, but Munuera Montero still sanctioned the action. That warning affected Bordalás, who decided to substitute him to avoid further issues.

The change that changed everything

However, the coach´s decision had no effect. Allan Nyom, the player who came on for Femenía, was barely on the field for a minute before being sent off for an alleged aggression against Vinicius. On this occasion, the Brazilian exaggerated the action again. Munuera Montero had not fallen for the first simulation against Iglesias, but he did for Nyom´s, after the warning from the fourth official. The referee showed the direct red without consulting VAR, leaving Getafe with one less player and the match practically lost.

Juan Iglesias loses his cool with Vinicius

The situation worsened when Sancris was also sent off, again in an action with Vinicius as the protagonist. At that moment, Juan Iglesias exploded and went directly towards the Brazilian to reprimand him for his behavior. "That´s why everyone hates you. Learn from your teammates," the blue player shot back while Militao and Mbappé tried to separate them. Vinicius, for his part, responded with a defiant gesture: "I am very good."

Bordalás also targets the Brazilian

The Getafe coach recounted what happened after Nyom´s expulsion, denouncing the provocative attitude of the Madrid player. "Vinicius approached me and told me (sarcastically) that it was fine, change. I told him to go over there. Then Bellingham came to tell me to go to the bench. Just that. Vinicius shouldn´t come to provoke," Bordalás explained in a press conference.

More criticism after the match

The protests did not stop after the match. In the mixed zone, Juan Iglesias spoke again about Vinicius´s behavior: "In football, there are many incidents; these are things of the match. But there are things that cannot be allowed. You have to respect people; when respect is lacking, these sparks fly, and no one likes it," declared the defender, making his indignation over the Brazilian´s attitude clear.
