The coach is aware that there were individual and collective errors that were decisive, but he also believes that these defeats —against PSG and Sevilla— can serve as a boost to strengthen the team for the coming months. The coach has already identified the areas to improve, especially in pressing and the defensive system, with the goal of achieving a more balanced and competitive team. According to his surroundings, Flick conveyed that he is convinced the team will return to its best level in a few weeks and is optimistic about the future despite recent setbacks. He liked the team´s attitude in different phases of both matches: the first half against PSG and the reaction in the second half against Sevilla. The German also believes that the final score was too lopsided, conditioned by the fact that Barça completely committed to attack in search of a comeback.

A necessary break to regain strength

For Hansi Flick, the international break comes at an opportune moment. It will allow the players to disconnect mentally, whether with their national teams or working in Barcelona, and will help recover important players. The coach hopes to have Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Fermín López, and Joan García back, players he considers fundamental to his tactical system. Although Flick does not use the absences as an excuse to justify the defeats, the club is aware that limitations in certain positions have forced some players to accumulate too many minutes, which has generated evident physical wear.

Although this duel will not be decisive in the title race, it can have a significant emotional influence on the development of the season. Flick has marked that match in red, recalling that last year Barça made a statement in the clásico, and he trusts that his team will do it again.
