Official statement from Barça regarding Pedri´s injury
The Canary midfielder was already unavailable for the match against Elche due to suspension.
FC Barcelona has officially announced the injury of their player Pedri through a statement released this Wednesday. The footballer, who was already ruled out for the LaLiga match against Elche next Sunday due to suspension, will be absent for a longer period than expected, meaning Hansi Flick will not be able to count on him for several weeks.
As reported by Rac1, the player did not participate in the training session this Wednesday due to muscle discomfort. Medical tests confirmed that he suffers from a hamstring injury, and the most optimistic forecasts suggest an absence of between three and four weeks.
The club´s statement details the following: "First team player Pedri suffers a rupture of the distal hamstring of the left leg. The approximate recovery time will be determined by the evolution of the injury."

The brain of Barça and the Spanish national team
In the immediate horizon, Barça faces several demanding commitments: the match against Elche at the Estadi Olímpic, the trips to Bruges and Vigo to face Club Bruges and Celta, respectively, before the international break. During that break, Spain will play their matches against Georgia (November 15) and Turkey (November 18). Subsequently, the azulgrana team will resume competition with the Barça-Athletic (November 22) and Chelsea-Barça (November 25) matches. With such a demanding schedule, all signs point to Pedri not being able to return to the pitch, at least, until the match against Athletic Club. Given the circumstances and the season´s history, Flick will act with the utmost caution, especially considering the significance of the clash against Chelsea in the Champions League. The injury represents a very significant loss for the German coach, as Pedri is not only one of the fittest players on the team but also the one responsible for directing the azulgrana play alongside Frenkie de Jong. In the Spanish national team, the Canary player occupies an equally key role under the orders of Luis de la Fuente, who uses him in the same position he plays at Barça. Pedri´s importance is reflected in a significant statistic: the midfielder has played 49 consecutive matches between Barça and the national team. The last time he was absent was on January 26, 2025, and not due to injury, but because of gastroenteritis that prevented him from being called up against Valencia on matchday 21 of the previous season.More news
