Alert at Barça with Ferran and Raphinha

The azulgrana team completed this morning its last session at the Camp Tito Vilanova of the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, prior to the match this Tuesday (18:45 hours) corresponding to the third round of the group stage. The match will be held at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Montjuïc and, barring unforeseen circumstances, it seems that neither Ferran Torres nor Raphinha will be available.

Both absent in the session

Neither of the two forwards participated in the session led by Hansi Flick, which practically confirms their absence from the squad for the match against the Greek team. Physical discomfort persists and the coaching staff has decided to act cautiously to ensure their full recovery ahead of the clásico against Real Madrid next Sunday (16:15 hours) at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The attack, heavily diminished

Ferran Torres left the concentration of the Spanish national team earlier than expected due to a strain in the hamstring of his left leg. Although it was hoped that he could return against Girona, the discomfort continues and he was not called up for the Catalan derby. On the other hand, Raphinha suffers from an injury in the middle third of the biceps femoris of his right leg. Initially, a recovery time of about three weeks was estimated, but his absence is already approaching a full month. With this scenario, and also having Robert Lewandowski and Dani Olmo in the infirmary, all indications point to Marcus Rashford occupying the offensive reference. Beside him, Lamine Yamal would act on the right side and Fermín on the left flank. However, already against Girona, Flick opted for Toni Fernández as the most advanced player, a more creative alternative within his approach.

Academy players, ready to step up

To complete the training, Hansi Flick once again counted on the same players from Barça Atlètic who already participated in the lead-up to the match against Girona: Diego Kochen, Eder Aller, Jofre Torrents, Xavi Espart, Dro, Toni Fernández, and Juan Hernández. All of them could have the opportunity to play their first match in the Champions League this Tuesday.
